Tribute to Motherhood

This video was shown at a recent Stake Leadership meeting.
What a wonderful tribute to Mothers.

Artsy Ring Dish

I have been trying to come up with ideas for crafts, that the girls will actually keep and use. Something that will not end up on the floor, under the bed, or in the trash can. I have a hard time seeing money, time, and creativity go to waste.
*
I am very happy with this little guy, or should I say gal (it is kind of a girly thing).  Though you could man it up, for a Father's Day coin dish.  Oh, the possibilities!
*
*
I found these little sauce dishes at our local 99cent store.  I initially grabbed a few for myself, for kitchen use.  But then I got thinking...  "this would be perfect to use as a ring dish".
*
How fun would it be to use permanent markers to design them how ever you wished?  Endless creative possibilities!
*
I was sold on the idea!  Then I bought the whole shelf.  The cashier asked me what I was going to do with all of them.  I proudly described my plans.  She loved it too!  And I smiled.
*
I made one to place on top of my dresser.  But I am thinking I should make another one to put in my kitchen.  I remove my rings frequently when I am baking, especially when making pizza dough.

Sharpie permanent markers
a dash of creativity
(pretty rings or coins to fill it with)

NOTE
I found that you'll want to make sure the ink is completely dry before touching.  It dries quickly, but it may smear if you touch it right away.  Just sayin'.
*
This is what I did in my first attempt at creating an Artsy Ring Dish:

Butterfly in a Jar

I understand Dad and Mom picked up a bunch of these Butterfly Jars to pass out on Mother's Day.
Do you love them?!
Looks and moves just like a real butterfly...  but it will never die.
*
I found ours at WalMart.
Dad and Mom found them at Home Depot.
You can also find them here. (though you would be paying a whole lot more)
*

*
Our's is displayed on our mantle.
I love it!
So do the kids.
That is the reason I have it up on the mantle.

We have the BLUE one.
Which one do you have?

Mother's Day Corsages

Here is one of the fresh floral corsages I designed for Mother's Day.  It felt good to work with flowers again.  I've missed it.  I will say that it would have been much more fun working along side my mom and sisters.  Love to all you beautiful mothers!

YW Camp Craft Ideas

I was called to head up our Stake Young Women Camp's activities and crafts.  Not only am I excited to go to girl's camp again this year...  I am giddy about the women I will be working with.  Each of them are talented, inspiring, and all out fun to be around!
*
Now for a growing list of ideas...  feel free to share your ideas!
*
NOTE:  Some of these would be great as Super Saturday crafts, gifts for Mother's day, or crafts for the Faith in God girls.
*
Check back for details, I am still gathering ideas.
